Eighty members recognized for lasting contributions to software engineering, in research, practice, and education. Additional members to be announced in late August.
(July 14, 2026) The Academy launches with the first batch of the inaugural class: a cohort of researchers, educators, and practitioners whose lasting contributions, influence, and leadership have shaped modern software engineering. As a standing body of honor established by ACM SIGSOFT, the Academy recognizes those whose cumulative work has defined the foundations of software engineering and its growth. New members will be elected annually through nominations from the community.
(July 7, 2026) The Academy and its inaugural class were previewed at the FSE 2026 conference in Montreal as part of the Fifty Years of ACM SIGSOFT celebrations.
